![]() ![]() Hello all!! Thanks for visiting my site. This is pretty much my first attempt at doing a web page, so if you have any hints, ideas, suggestions, or you just want to say hello...please feel free to contact me.
I first got into Extreme when I bought the "Pornografitti" CD. I had never heard of them before, and actually just picked up the CD becuse it looked like a cool group. From the moment I put the CD in my stereo, I knew something was different with this band!!
From that moment on...I was hooked...never before had anyone been able to give me chills just by singing!! I wore out my CD, found every single, import, and whatever else I could find on these guys and bought it all. The first time I saw Extreme live, I got lucky enough to score front row center on the 3 sides tour, and had a complete blast...I was in rock n roll heaven as far as I was concerned, and noone could bring me down from the high that I got from that show! Afterwards, my dream came true, when I got to meet the guys....I was totally starstruck, and everyone was totally cool...especially Gary...for being the "star" that he was...he was totally down to earth, very humble, and extremely (pun intended) friendly!
The next album "Waiting For The Punchline" brought changes of course with the new drummer Mike Mangini and a different musical direction. Extreme now went from the super polished, produced sound to a raw, more dirty sound. Did that change the quality of the music? Nope!! I happen to think that WFTPL is the best Extreme album, and very, very underrated!
So, years pass, and the day comes that I learn my favorite band has broken up...I was totally bummed out...Cinderella said it best when they said "Ya dont know what you got till its gone". I could not belive that such a talented bunch of guys had given their life love up...just like that! I had pretty much given up on the good music era, as the grunge/alternative era set in and took control of the airwaves....then the day comes when I hear that Gary had been announced as lead singer for the mighty Van Halen!! Hell yes!!!! I was totally psyched about this.....almost 3 years go by before I get to hear the product of Gary and Ed together, but when I did...again...I was blown away!! This was definately a different Van Halen and although most people would disagree...a BETTER ONE TOO!!
I was lucky enough to see the VH3 on the tour, and it totally rocked!! VH had a fire that they didnt have before...argue about it if you want, but facts are facts...they were ON FIRE! Especially on stage!!
Times passes, and as I get ready for the NEW VH3 CD, another blow comes...Gary has left Van Halen!!! Again, I felt so depressed....and not to mention pissed off at the people who ragged on Gary while he was in Van Halen, and didnt give him is fair shot...Im tellin ya people..the next VH would have knocked your socks off!!
So here I am more years later...and awaiting the new Gary Cherone Project "TRIBE OF JUDAH"!! THE MAN is finally back, and from the first song "Left For Dead" you can see he is in FINE FORM!! Noone has the talent that Mr. Cherone has in this guys peronal opinion............................................so....................................... to Gary and Co....WELCOME BACK...ITS BEEN TOO LONG!!!!!!!
